What Does it mean to foster?

Fosters are an essential part of our Rescue-Family. Between our fosters and volunteers, we can only do what we do daily with their support. As a foster, you will be responsible for the quality of life for our dogs as they transition through the adoption process. Often, this process is indefinite. While some dogs may go fast, others take time, but they all deserve the love and warmth of a family.

Fosters coordinate with our facilities and staff to maintain regular medical check-ups for our dogs. This means driving them to-and-from appointments, giving any medications needed at home on time, and, if necessary, training our dogs on basic etiquette such as potty training and indoor behavior. Fosters also connect with potential adopters to send them pictures, updates, and information on recent treatments.

If you are interested in fostering, the first step is to fill out the form below. Then, we will contact you for a phone interview, discuss your lifestyle and background in animal care, and answer any questions or concerns you may have. However, upon agreeing to foster with us, it is a 30-day renewable agreement.

The first step towards your new family member is ensuring we have your information on file. This allows us to find the best match for your family and our dogs. This generic application is to match you with any dog to foster. If you want a specific dog, please visit our Adoptable Dog tab and click on the photo of the dog you are interested in. Please be as thorough as possible. If there is not a dog in our system that you like, but you would still like to adopt from us when a dog becomes available, then fill one out today!
